According to the Spiritist Doctrine, the exercise of charity is everyone’s moral duty and goes far beyond material help; it is a way to strengthen the love for others and put into practice all the teachings of Jesus. Alongside the Spiritist study activities, Home of Dulce Spiritist Center also supports community charity work through Home of Dulce Volunteering, a group whose priority is to bring a bit of comfort and love to those in need.
What to do to change the world?
Love. Love can, indeed, overcome selfishness.
Sister Dulce
Inspired by Sister Dulce’s example, we at Home of Dulce Volunteering believe that love and charity can transform the world and that together we are stronger and we can go further. Therefore, Home of Dulce Volunteering campaigns and social activities are conducted by our group of volunteers in partnership with institutions in the Halton Region.
The exercise of charity is a transformative experience for all of us, and we are certain that embracing a kinsperson with all our love will help change the world.
ACTIVITIES
Thanks to the dedication and commitment of our volunteers, Home of Dulce does campaigns in partnership with local charities to distribute food, drinks, clothes, and toys, as well as love and hope to the Halton community.
We also rely on the generous donation of bread and donuts by Aveiro Bakery, which are distributed weekly to about 40 families registered at the Oak Park Neighborhood Centre and also help supplement 200 meals for families served by Frontline Outreach.
