Home of Dulce is a spiritist centre created by Brazilians living in the Halton region, in Ontario, Canada, who had common interests and wanted to study, practice and disseminate spiritism.
It all began in January 2020, when about 15 people formed a study group, supported by Centro Espírita Harmonia (CEH) and Universidade Livre do Espírito (ULE), from Salvador, Bahia. They started to have periodical meetings to deepen their knowledge of the spiritist doctrine.
Today, Home of Dulce already has more than 100 members, among students and volunteers, who participate in study groups, mediumistic activities (Séances) and social services.
Currently, our courses are happening virtually, and we host public meetings and passes* twice a month, always on a Saturday morning, in Oakville, Ontario. Check HERE our calendar. *Passe is a therapeutic technique used to promote balance on a person’s energy, body and spirit, and aims to assist in healing processes.
Who is Sister Dulce?
The name choice for Home of Dulce Spiritist Centre (HDSC) is a tribute to the dear Maria Rita de Sousa Brito Lopes Pontes, best-known as Sister Dulce, a Brazilian nun who devoted her life to works of charity and assistance to the poor and needy.
Sister Dulce was born in Salvador, Bahia, on May 26, 1914, and disincarnated in Salvador, on March 13, 1992. She was beatified in 2011 and canonized in 2019, with the title of Santa Dulce dos Pobres (Saint Dulce of the Poor), being the first saint born in Brazil.
