Spiritism is a doctrine that is guided by the objective of presenting

reality and its multiple existential dimensions,

without reservations, fantasies or conceit.

WHAT IS SPIRITISM?

Spiritism is a doctrine, codified (learn more below in Coding/Bibliography) by Allan Kardec, that deals with the origin and nature of spirits and their relationship with the material world. Its primary focus is the spiritual nature of the human being: we are all spirits, incarnate or not. It is a knowledge that starts with the spiritual essence to explain material existence.

In the book “Getting to know Spiritism”, Adenáuer Novaes1 explains that “Spiritism penetrates fundamental questions of human knowledge. It approaches moral, philosophical, scientific and religious questions, hence the reason for saying that it is Science, Philosophy and Religion. It is Science because, having its own method and object, it uses observation and experimentation in the search for its own development. It is Philosophy because it answers the basic questions of human knowledge. It studies the origins of the human being, where we came from, where we are going, and who we are . It is Religion, even though not having an organized priesthood, cults or rituals, because it seeks to integrate the human being with God. Spiritism is, then, the meeting point of this knowledge. It is the key and the code that introduces the human being to the understanding of their true nature.

Allan Kardec is the pseudonym that the French educator, writer, and translator Hippolyte Léon Denizard Rivail adopted when he published "The Spirits' Book", which presents a new theory of human destiny and life, in 1856. Allan Kardec became known as the great propagator of the Spiritist Doctrine.

In 1857, Kardec published a revised edition of "The Spirits' Book" and devoted himself to establishing the basis for the Codification of the Spiritist Doctrine. Thanks to the teachings received from superior spirits through various mediums, Kardec wrote the five books that became the basis of spiritism (Pentateuch).

CODING / BIBLIOGRAPHY

The Codification of Spiritism is composed of the five books compiled by Allan Kardec (Pentateuch), published between 1857 and 1868. In these books, Kardec gathered the teachings of the spirits, analyzing and codifying them so that they would become clear to their readers and to those interested in the subject.

It consists of a series of questions formulated by Allan Kardec and answered by spirits with the help of mediums from all over the world. It presents the Principles of the Spiritist Doctrine about the immortality of the soul, the nature of the spirits and their relation with men, the moral laws, the present life, the future life and the future of humanity.
It gathers teachings about all kinds of manifestations, the means of communication with the invisible world, the development of mediumship, and the difficulties and stumbling blocks that can be encountered in the practice of Spiritism.
This work is a life manual where the reader will find profound observations on the moral teachings of Christ, its agreement with Spiritism, and its application to various life situations.
The main objective of this book is to explain the Justice of God according to the Spiritist Doctrine, demonstrating the immortality of the Spirit and the condition that it will enjoy in the Spiritual World as a consequence of its own actions. It is divided into two parts: The first establishes a comparative examination of the religious doctrines on life after death. The second, resulting from practical work, gathers examples about the situation of the soul during and after disincarnation.
It is a work that provides an excellent opportunity for immersion in great themes of universal interest, approached in a logical, rational, and revealing manner. Themes such as the fact that Spiritism and science complement each other. It also addresses that science without Spiritism is impotent to explain certain phenomena by the laws of matter alone. And it confirms that Spiritism, without Science, would have no support or proof.
